January 9-29, 2017
From the beginning, we have sought to prioritize prayer. Our mantra has been, everything birthed in prayer, bathed in prayer and advanced through prayer. We begin the New Year, as a church, through 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting. Together, as we faithfully seek God, we trust in His power alone to create lasting impact in our lives, our church and our world.
We kick off the 21 days with a night of worship and prayer. Deeper Night will be held at First Church in Sage Hall (11 Garden Street; Cambridge MA – in the basement of First Church). During these times, we seek God through worship music, share an encouraging message, and pray both personally and corporately for our lives, our city, our church and our world.
Resources for 21 Days
- 21 Days Prayer Guide – These are the things we are praying for during this fast.
- Community Document – As we pray through the things in the prayer guide, we are asking the Journey Community to post their thoughts on this Google Doc.
*We are also taking time to fast during the 21 days. More details below…
21 Days of Prayer Is For You!
If you sense that God has more for your life, 21 Days of Prayer is a great place to start believing Him for all that He has for you. At the prayer services, you will put seeking God first into practice, and when you do this, He will start working on your behalf like never before. You will see a difference in your relationships, your work, your family and every area of your life. It is then that you will best be able to spread His love to others.
We would love for you to join us in January as we gather to pray for the needs of our city, nation, families, and homes.
The goal of fasting is to draw near to God. During this time we eliminate distractions for a spiritual purpose; it hits the reset button of our soul and renews us from the inside out! It also enables us to celebrate the goodness and mercy of God and prepares our hearts for all of the good things God desires to bring into our lives. Remember, your personal fast should present a level of challenge, but it is very important to know your own body, your options, and, most importantly, to seek God in prayer and follow what the Holy Spirit leads you to do.
