In Acts chapter 2 of the New Testament it says, ‘In the last days,’ God says, ‘I will pour out My Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams. (Acts 2:17 NLT ) In 2005 God gave Pastor Kent a vision for Cambridge and Boston. While in prayer, he saw a huge heart beating, it was placed over the Boston Area, and it was pumping life in every direction. Although he had never been to Boston, he and a few friends decided to take a road-trip to to see what was stirring. Over the next four years from 2006-2009, he traveled to Boston and Cambridge more than 25 times!
In September 2008, after four years of directing BASIC College Ministries, the Lord directed the Murawski family to, like Abraham, leave what is comfortable and step out to a land that I will show you (paraphrase Genesis 12:1-2). After several months in prayer and waiting on the Lord, they knew very clearly He was directing them to move to Cambridge, near Harvard Square, to start a new church.
It’s been an exciting and scary ride, but they would never go back to the way things were before. Life is meant to be lived with adventure and purpose. Since becoming followers of Jesus, the Murawskis have walked by faith. God has shown up at every step as they keep putting their feet in the water, He keeps parting it!
Abraham left what was familiar without knowing where he would end up, trusting that God was leading him. He was on a journey: a life-long pursuit of God. He followed Him each step of the way until the Lord called him home. We desire to do the same – walk faithfully and fruitfully with God and make an impact in this world until He takes us home!
