Encounter God.  Love People.  Change the World!

• Encounter God – We want ALL people that come in contact with us to experience Jesus in a life-changing way, especially those far from Him.  We want to engage Him with our minds AND our hearts.  1 John 4:19 says, ”We love Him because He first loved us.”  In order to do the Great Commandment (Love God and Love People – Mark 12:30-31) we first have to experience His love for ourselves in an ongoing way.
• Love people - Once we’ve experienced His transforming love, we can’t help but love those around us.  We are a community of people who have encountered Jesus and engage in reaching people far from God .  Jesus Himself said, “I came to seek and save those who are lost.”  (Luke 19:10 NLT)
• Change the World – Jesus calls us to be world changers.  When you experience Him, you can’t help but seek to love and change the world!  Jesus said in Matthew 28:19, “Go and make disciples (followers) of ALL nations…” That sounds like changing the world to me!   Mother Theresa had it right when she said, “Every person is created for greatness. Not all of us are called to do great things but all of us are called to do even the littlest things with great love.” No explanation needed.

The Strategy (How we will do this)

• Weekly Sunday Worship Experiences – these are meant to be inspiring, catalytic and faith building!
• Life Groups – One of our primary values is community or sharing our lives with other people.  We will seek to meet this need through small groups that gather throughout the week to for encouragement and growth.
• Prayer – prayer will always be what fuels our passion and vision.  In the beginning, the Lord showed us that he wanted Journey Church to be “Birthed in prayer, bathed in prayer, and advanced through prayer.”
• Partnership – rather than recreate the wheel and seek to establish many ministries we desire to partner with other kingdom minded churches and ministries who are already doing a good job at something.  We want to bless them by sending workers, help, and even finances to advance the kingdom of God.  This also means we will partner with missions organizations and missionaries to see the gospel go to the ends of the earth.
• Outreach/Service – We desire to go beyond the four walls of our church and show the love of God in powerful and practical ways to our city.
