In the last part of the series, He Lived, He Died, He Rose, Pastor Kent shares on the power of the resurrection. It’s an event well documented by history, as Kelly Steinhaus shared the week before, but Christ is also a person. If Christ is alive, that means we can experience Him as a person in the power of His resurrection!

When we understand the importance of the Gospel in our daily lives, it changes us and we can’t help but share it with others!

Come with us as we explore How to Keep and Grow Your Passion for God. The third chapter of the Book of Revelation is Jesus’ message to the church of Laodicea, or the lukewarm church. We find that true faith comes when we reject self-sufficiency and instead rely on God for what only He can provide…

At the start of our series SoulPrint, Pastor Kent talks about God as Father. Before we can ever know who we are as individuals, we must know who God is. We can often view God the Father like we view our earthly fathers, which leads to wrong thinking. Instead, we must understand God as Father as He has been revealed to us in the person of His Son, Jesus Christ. Though our earthly fathers may have hurt or failed us, our Heavenly Father is perfect.

In a message recorded live in Harvard Square, Pastor Kent shared with Journey Church the vision for the days ahead. Telling the story from the first days of being called to Boston, to the dreams for the long-term spiritual transformation of the city, to the needs (both spiritual and financial) that it will take to get there, Pastor Kent encouraged Journey to look to the Lord to bring it to pass. A must listen for everyone involved with Journey – whether in the city or joining us as prayer partners from far away – and also highly recommended for anyone who just wants to know what Journey Church is all about.

In this message recorded live from Harvard Square in Cambridge, MA, Pastor Kent leads Journey Church into a time of prayer in our morning service. Starting with prayer for unity in our city and community, we then turned to pray for our own church, then for other people, and, lastly, we prayed for ourselves as individuals. Take this message and use it as a template for prayer in your own life, as you learn to believe God for great things in your life and in the lives of those around you. God answers prayer, so we encourage you to Dream Big, Pray Hard, and Think Long!

Pray Hard - In this message recorded live from Harvard Square in Cambridge, MA, Pastor Kent talks about the need for persevering prayer in the life of all Christians. Are there areas in your life where you’ve lost heart? Don’t give up! Jesus tells the Parable of the Persistent Widow in Luke 18:1-8 to illustrate that if even an unjust judge will give a widow what she needed because she persevered in asking for justice, how much more will God give to his children all that they ask for in believing prayer?

Dream Big – Cloudy with a Chance of Quail - In this message recorded live from Harvard Square in Cambridge, MA, pastor Kent goes after dreaming big. God honors bold prayers and bold prayers honor God. In the book of Numbers, chapter 11, God does a miracle of dramatic proportions in response to their request: He sends a 105 million quail to feed His children for a month! You are never too old to pick up your dream and you are never to young to start dreaming! In the end, if we don’t come to the conclusion that there is no limit to God’s power, we will pray small prayers.

The Legend of the Circle Maker – We have decided to start the New Year with a series on prayer based on the book The Circle Maker by Mark Batterson. In fact, we started 2011 with a series on prayer as well. We are a church that’s called to be a house of prayer for all nations. We call it the Isaiah 56:7 mandate. In this message, pastor Kent starts with the legend of Honi the Circle Maker (a true story from the Talmud) and transitions into the story of Jericho from the book of Joshua. As the people of Israel circle the promise of God, they see the fulfillment of that promise – the walls fall down and they take the city. In the end, if all we do is hear a message or read a book on prayer, we have missed it. The point is to pray. We hope you will take this journey with us and be stirred and reinvigorated to pray with purpose and perseverance.
This was recorded live at our the Sheraton Commander in Harvard Square, Cambridge, MA.
