Directions

From the T:

Take the red-line to Harvard Square. Exit at the Church Street exit. Turn right coming out of the exit and walk north on Mass Ave past the cemetary. Do not cross the street, but veer left at Garden Street. Continue to walk down Garden St. until you walk past the Common. The Hotel will be on your left.

From Boston Logan International Airport:

From Interstate 93 South, take Exit 26A to Storrow Drive West. Continue to Harvard Square, turn right and cross over the river. At the 5th set of lights, turn left, and then immediately turn right onto Garden Street. Proceed one-quarter mile to the hotel.

From North:

Take I-93 South to Exit 26A. Exit at Storrow Drive West and proceed to Harvard Square. Turn right and cross over the river. At the 5th set of lights, turn left and then immediately turn right onto Garden Street. Proceed one-quarter mile to the hotel.

From West:

Take the Massachusetts Turnpike to Exit 18. Proceed straight over the river and turn left onto Memorial Drive. At the 3rd set of lights, turn right onto JFK Street. At the 5th set of lights, turn left and then immediately turn right onto Garden Street.

From South:

Take I-93 North to Exit 20 (Massachusetts Turnpike). Exit the Massachusetts Turnpike at Cambridge. Proceed straight over the river and then turn left. At the 3rd set of lights, turn right onto JFK Street. After passing “The Coop”, get in the left lane. At the 5th set of lights, turn left and then immediately turn right onto Garden Street.

Parking at 3 Saint Johns Road

We have a special arrangement with Leslie University and the Episcopal Divinity School to use a small parking lot near the hotel.  Simply download and print this permit (Parking Permit Journey) and place it on your dashboard.  If you forget to print it, we will have some extra ones on Sundays.  In the future, we will probably give preference to first time visitors, the elderly, and families with young children, but for now, anyone can park there. Simply turn down Berkeley St. on the west side of the Sheraton Commander, take your second right onto Philips Place Road, and then veer left at the “Y” onto St. Johns Road. The parking lot will be on your left just as you take the “Y.”  They refer to it as “Parking Lot Q.”

If the lot is full, there is also street parking around the Commander on these streets: All along Garden and also on Berkeley, Phillips Place, Brattle, Appian Way and Mason St.  On Sundays, you can park at meters without paying or in places where you normally need  a residential permit.  The Commander has also extended a special rate to those attending Journey Church.  You can park in their lot and it’s $10.00 compared to the usual of rate of $28.00.  Lastly, you can park at the Charles Hotel Garage (One Bennett Sreet, coupon available, call 617.491.0298 for current rates) or the University Place Garage (617.491.0801).
