Let’s do it…together! We are a community of disciple-makers. What is a disciple-maker? It’s simple. We are called to be disciples who make disciples, who make disciples, who make disciples…you get the idea.
Jesus told us as much, (it’s called the Great Commission),
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20 NIV)
Discipleship isn’t primarily about pairing up with someone at church or partnering with less mature believer to help them grow. It can include those things, but the primary aim of discipleship is on becoming a disciple who makes disciples or multiplying discipleship in your own spheres of influence.
Our Model
We are a non-traditional church. Rather than a large group gathering every Sunday that focuses on one person or a few people sharing from the front, we gather weekly in churches of 10-20 people where we worship, pray, and read/discuss the scriptures together. Our goal is to apply and obey scripture instead of just gaining more scriptural knowledge.
We don’t judge our fruitfulness by how many we gather on a Sunday but rather by how many we equip to be mature disciples and send into their own spheres of influence to make other disciples.
Though our mission never changes, our model can shift from time to time.
Becoming a Disciple-maker
Currently, we are equipping people to be disciple-makers in the following ways:
- Weekly interactive church gatherings in groups of 10-20
- Weekly worship and prayer gatherings
- Monthly worship celebrations where all our churches come together
- Monthly Disciple-makers gatherings to equip people to become multiplying disciple-makers in their own spheres of influence
- The Discover Experience annually or semi-annually
