If you’ve ever had a nagging sense that you might be missing something when it comes to your church experience. If you’ve ever wondered, Is this all there is? Am I doing this whole Christian thing right? If you are not sure where or how to start with Jesus’ command to, “Go and make disciples of all nations”; you are not alone…
Whether you are a church leader, a marketplace leader, or a follower of Jesus who is simply tired of the status quo, the Discover Experience will help you shift your thinking and take steps to start the disciple-making process.
Here are a few reasons to join the Discover Experience:

Then the Discover Experience is for you!
My Transformation
From late 2017 to early 2018, more than 60% of our church moved on for one reason or another. I (Kent) was frustrated, angry, and quite frankly depressed. Before that, there had been seven years of disappointment when it came to the way I was doing church. I had been trying to pursue a church planting narrative that left me empty and hopeless. It went something like this, “If you build it they will come.”
Like many pastors, I had been duped into trying to build a church when Jesus wanted to build a kingdom.
Around the same time, I had a powerful encounter with Jesus that changed my vision and perspective. Jesus reminded me of His statement, “I will build My Church” (see Matthew 16:18) and there was one mission – on earth as it is in heaven. In essence, He was saying, “Kent, I want you to focus on building people and let Me build my Church!”
I was the type of pastor who always loved making disciples, investing in people’s lives, and watching them grow, but somewhere along the line that had been lost, and I traded it in for a lesser vision. As my focus shifted back to Jesus and His kingdom, so did our way of doing things. I shared my experience with our church and expressed my intent to start moving in a new direction with our Three C’s (Communion, Community, and Co-mission).
We began reading the same Bible plan together, and I began to equip our church on how to use the Discovery Bible Study Method for themselves and to help those around them who were asking questions. People in our congregation were reading more of the Bible than ever before, engaging in it, and yes, obeying it! They started to become more confident using the simple DBS method and some began making disciples on their own.
As we began moving this direction, God connected me to Joe Reed and the Exponent Group – an equipping ministry that helps Christians move from addition to multiplication in their disciple-making efforts. That’s when I went through the Discover Cohort and honing my disciple-making skills.
I am now a facilitator helping other people discover key paradigm shifts for becoming multiplying disciple-makers and start the disciple-making process with those inside and outside the church.
“Gathering with others in a training cohort led by Exponent Group gave me the support I needed to launch disciple-making groups in my workplace and beyond. Some of those folks are now launching their own groups with coworkers and family members!”
